My January BirchBox arrived yesterday morning and the theme they have chosen for the month is Pinterest.
In the box are 5 Pinterest themed postcards, a BirchBox #NoFilter handbag mirror and your 5 beauty samples:
Benefit ‘They’re Real Tinted Primer’: I’ve already been using this product for a while so thanks for the extra BirchBox! I love this stuff. Looks great on the lower lashes, doesn’t leave any fallout at all and underneath your usual mascara on the top lashes it really does boost your lash game.
Jelly Pong Pong ‘Lighten Up’: I haven’t tried this yet but it is a nude coloured pencil for use on the lower waterline to brighten the eyes or underneath the brows as a non-shimmery highlight. More subtle than a bright white liner for the inner rims so definitely something I’ll be trying out.
Whish ‘Three Whishes Almond Body Butter’: As usual for Whish products this smells Ah-May-Zing and goes onto the skin beautifully. The scent is quite strong at first but soon settles however if you don’t like scented products I’d definitely give this one a miss.
Beauty Protector ‘Protect & Detangle’: I used this for the first time last night and it definitely made a difference when I was brushing out my wet hair. It wasn’t as good at de-tangling as some other products but this is such a multi-tasker I think it can probably be let off. The product also conditions without adding weight, protects from the heat of styling, protects from UV and apparently locks in colour although that’s not something I can test as I don’t colour my hair.
Absolution ‘L’Eau Soir et Matin’: A brand that is totally new to me! This is a micellar cleansing water making claims on it’s packaging about “natural” ingredients and ingredients from organic farming. Blech. I’m not one to pay extra for woo.
Overall I’m pretty happy with this months box, glad to get an extra travel size of the Benefit primer and I’ll definitely be trying out the pencil and using the ‘Protect & Detangle’ spray which is apparently a best seller in the BirchBox shop.
