May has mainly been a month of winding down and self-care after the end of my course. While I’ve been resting I’ve not been doing nothing, I’ve been creating this new home for my blog, coming back to coding after many years away is quite the shock I’ll tell you!
Anyway I’ll stop waffling now and tell you what beauty items I’ve been loving the most this month:
Batiste ‘Texture Me’ Texturising spray
Yes, I lost the lid and couldn’t find it for my photo! Who needs a lid anyway? I bought this on a whim having been a big fan of the brand’s dry shampoo which is a total must-have for people with long hair and/or spoonies.
Since the first time I used it I have to say, I’m addicted! It makes my hair more voluminous, I can create a beautifully tousled look with practically zero effort, it’s not sticky at all and it smells amazing too.
OPI Original Nail Envy
I’m pleased to say that one of my damaged nails seems to have repaired it’s self but the other one is looking like it may be permanently damaged – I’ll keep hoping though! I’ve been using Nail Envy on them for a few months now alongside good moisturisers and I’ve seen a definite improvement in strength and condition. I hope to be back doing nail posts very soon now…
KTC Coconut Oil
Vita Coco’s oil sample in my Birchbox asked “How will you swear by it?” At the time I wasn’t sure what I would do with it but I did find a use and ended up buying some oil! Of course, ever the bargain hunter, I found this much cheaper brand in my local Morrisons! The bottle is designed for use in cooking so I simply decanted the oil while warm into a screw top pot from Superdrug and allowed it to re-solidify. This oil smells, feels, tastes and works on my skin exactly the same as the more expensive brand. I’ve been using it on the very dry areas on my arms where I have keratosis pilaris.
Soap & Glory, Sexy Mother Pucker Matte-Lip crayon in ‘Chocoberry’
Anyone who knows me knows I love a good matte lippie and this shade really appealed to me as soon as I saw it.
The tube says ‘3D lip colour & sculpt’ whatever that means – I’m not entirely sure how these differ from regular lipsticks other than the packaging to be honest. Loving the shade though and it feels nice on the lips, not drying at all.
Sinful Colors Nail Polish in ‘Ice Dream’
Since my nails are growing back now I treated myself to this beautiful new polish. I’m so glad to see Sinful Colours back on the high street again after a long absence. We nail addicts missed you! They had been stocked in Boots but for some unknown reason they stopped selling them , thankfully Superdrug have now picked up the brand. If you haven’t already heard of them Sinful Colours are a budget polish brand producing a huge range of on trend shades and are actually really great quality to boot. They have recently collaborated with Kylie Jenner so they’re sure to be a household name pretty soon.
Have you discovered or re-discovered any great products recently? Let me know in the comments so I can check them out.
