Sleek: Whimsical Wonderland Collection + Swatches

‘Whimsical Wonderland’ is the limited edition summer release from Sleek and has already hit the shelves.

Sleek Whimsical Wonderland

The palette, titled ‘All The Fun Of The Fair’ is very bright and youthful feeling with a festival vibe to it, it has 12 pans of pastelly goodness for just £8.99 which works out to 75p per shade.
I was very impressed with the majority of the shadows in the palette and found only a couple of let downs. In particular the yellow shade ‘Hook a Duck’ and the green shade ‘Helter Skelter’ were on the powdery side and not as pigmented as the rest.

All of the shades are light and bright, and summery. Great for those who love their peach shades as there are several here, (probably at least as many as in the infamous Too Faced Sweet Peach palette!) The shades ‘Hit The Bell’ and ‘Hall of ‘Mirrors’ (1st and last on the 2nd row) have to be my favourite shades in the palette.

1st Row Swatches:

L-R: ‘Carousel, ‘Shoot the Chutes’, ‘Loop the Loop’, ‘Ferris Wheel’, ‘Twister’ & ‘Teacups’

2nd Row Swatches:

L-R: ‘Hit the Bell’, ‘Swing Boats’, ‘Hook a Duck’, ‘Helter Skelter’, ‘Dodgems’ & ‘Hall of Mirrors’

I did take my own picture of the palette but forgot to do so until after swatching and playing around so it’s not so pretty now as it was beforehand!

The blushes, called ‘Sweet Cheeks’ are gel sticks, something I don’t think Sleek have produced before. They produce an easy to blend sheer wash of colour on the skin. They’re very dewy and naturally glowy. I adore the shade range on these and actually by far prefer these to the eye palette. They are a much more universal product to my mind, accessible to all ages and all styles. I’ve swatched them quite heavily here to show the colour, my favourite of the three is the purple, it looks quite dark and terrifying in the tube but when you use it it’s sheer and lovely.

The lipsticks are super highly pigmented and are the same formula as the Lip VIP lipsticks they released a little while back – semi-matte but very moisturising. I recommend a lip liner if you have trouble with feathering as these can be quite slippery. I don’t find them as long lasting as other matte lipsticks but weighed against lip feel/moisture this is sometimes a worthwhile trade off.

The three shades chime in perfectly with the blushes. My favourite of the three is the blue-lilac ‘Big Shot’ which I was reaching for straight away! I can see these being highly popular.

Will you be adding any of these Sleek summer releases to your make-up bag? Let me know in the comments what you think of the collection.
