Wow, I really can’t believe it’s the first of October already! Where has the month gone? I’ve spent the month learning new names and faces at college as well as some new ideas and ways of doing things. Problem solving ways around my condition as well as learning things on the curriculum!
Learning to dress hair is a particular challenge for me with not being able to stand for very long so we’ve been finding ways to work around this.
Now we have me sorted with a stool that I can change the height on and that seems to be working for now while I’m working on a head block. Fingers crossed it will be fine when I graduate to working on a real person too although they won’t be as low as ‘Dolly’!
Last weekend was Professional Beauty North which was great fun for everyone except our credit cards! I bought a few things for my kit and some treats, one of which is below:
My September Favourites
So on to the products I’ve reached for the most in September.
NIOD – Copper Amino Isolate Serum 1%
A new addition to my skincare regimen this contains 1% pure copper tripeptide-1. While 1% sounds low it’s actually a considerable amount higher than the percentage of peptides found in most skincare preparations which are more usually around the 0.01% mark. This peptide supports the production, repair and maintenance of collagen. It also includes hyaluronic acid. A 5% version of this product is also available from NIOD but I don’t think I’m ready for the “big guns” quite yet!
Pixi – Hydrating Milky Mist
I’m going to do a full review of this later on as I’ve only had this for a couple of weeks but I honestly haven’t stopped using it since it arrived! You can use it as a hydrating toner in the morning and evening or any time you feel the need for a blast of immediate hydration.
Urban Decay – Moondust Palette
I knew I had to have this palette as soon as I heard it was coming out and it hasn’t disappointed!
There are 8 new shades of their glittery Moondust shadows in this palette which I believe is limited edition although the shades themselves are permanent additions to the UD line.
L-R ‘Specter’, ‘Element’, ‘Magnetic’, ‘Lightyear’, ‘Granite’, ‘Lithium’, ‘Vega’ & ‘Galaxy’.
Inglot – Freedom System single matte shadows in 296 & 301
Inglot had a stand at Pro Beauty North, in among the scrum at their counter I got a few bits and pieces from them including these two gorgeous matte red shadows. They’re very well pigmented and such an unusual and hard to find pair of shades that I had to get them and try them out.
I will definitely buy more of their shades in the future if these are anything to go by! They have a generous pan size and last well on the skin too.
Only a short list this month as I’ve tried out a lot of new products and techniques. Have you got any September favourites, new products or re-discoveries?
