I bought the Jouer ‘Springtime in Paris’ a while back and have been umming and ahh-ing about posting a review.
This was something of an impulse purchase based on hype around the brand, the images and the good reviews it was getting elsewhere.
When it came, as soon as I opened the box I noticed that the shades seemed very different to those shown in the Jouer pictures. The blue in particular is much less saturated than shown in many of the promotional images (although I have to admit it does photograph well it’s actually quite muted). This was not a good sign. I stumbled across news of this Yemoja palette while watching the ‘Beauty News’ YouTube channel. The same channel that has become famous for destroying make-up but which also does a great round up of new products being announced or released. I’m a little out of breath after such a long title! It’s pretty exciting stuff though, popular skincare brand Nip + Fab have released a make-up collection!
Naturally, as soon as I was well enough and able to pop down the shops and bag me some of their goodies I did so. I wanted to buy the foundation in person rather than online so I could choose the right shade for me. This is something I always recommend doing if possible. If necessary take a tiny pot with you to put a pump of the tester in to take away and try in daylight.
In my Nip + Fab haul were foundation, matching concealer, the eyeshadow palette, and travel palette. I received a gift with my purchase of a little cosmetics pouch with a liquid lipstick, lip liner and mascara inside. I have another one of these pouches to give away so keep reading to the end to find out how you can win it for yourself. Continue reading
This ‘Feline Fancy’ palette and lipstick set was a limited edition released in the US for Valentines day. It took a while to reach UK stockists so I only got it this month!
I was surprised to find that even though these are red/pink shades they are all 100% vegan as well as the usual cruelty free you expect from Sugarpill. Sugarpill shadows are made in the USA and these 4 pans are 1.45g each the lipstick is 5.4ml. Continue reading
Wow, I really can’t believe it’s the first of October already! Where has the month gone? I’ve spent the month learning new names and faces at college as well as some new ideas and ways of doing things. Problem solving ways around my condition as well as learning things on the curriculum!
